Fancy a family burger night? Well, you’re in luck as my Mini Star Burgers are suitable for the whole family and packed with all-important iron too! Source: kidspot and Annabel Karmel

Ingredients

  • Bread, white75g
  • Onions1 small, minced
  • Carrots1 medium, grated
  • Apple1/2 medium
  • Ground beef250g
  • Garlic1, crushed
  • Parmasan cheese1/4 cup
  • Spices, thyme1 tsp

Steps

  1. 1. Put the bread into a processor and whiz until you get fine crumbs. Add the remaining ingredients and whiz again until finely chopped.
  2. 2. Remove the blade and using your hands, shape into 5 mini burgers.
  3. 3. Preheat the grill. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease.
  4. 4. Place the burgers on the baking sheet. Place under the grill for 5 minutes. Turn over and grill for another 3 to 5 minutes until lightly golden and cooked through.
  5. 5. Stamp out cheese stars with a cookie cutter and serve alongside sweet potato wedges and your burger accompaniments.
