Ingredients
- Vegetable oil2 tsp
- Beef steak700 g, cubed
- Red bell pepper2 pieces, sliced into 5 cm strips
- Onions2 pieces, thinly sliced
- Garlic2 cloves, crushed and chopped
- Water400 ml, warm
- Parsley3/4 cup, chopped
- Green peas1/2 cup
- Mushrooms1/2 cup, sliced
- All-purpose flour2 tbsp
- Spices, paprika1 tsp
- Salt1/2 tsp
- Spices, black pepper1/2 tsp
- Tomato paste2 tbsp
- Lemonzest

Steps
- 1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
- 2. Add oil to a large earthenware dish or ovenproof dish with a lid.
- 3. Combine flour, paprika, salt and pepper together and roll beef cubes in the mixture until well covered. Put beef and remaining flour in the oven dish.
- 4. Add capsicum, onion and garlic.
- 5. Combine water and tomato paste in a small bowl and mix well then pour over meat and vegetables until just covering.
- 6. Cook for 2 hours covered. 20 minutes before serving, add the peas and mushrooms and check seasoning. Just before serving, mix parsley and lemon zest together and sprinkle over beef.
