Ingredients

3 servings
  • Barley1/4 cup
  • Banana1 piece
  • Water1 cup
  • Infant formula2 tbsp

Steps

  1. 01

Cook the Barley: In a small saucepan, combine the barley and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes (or 10 minutes for barley flakes), stirring occasionally, until soft.

  2. 02

Mash the Banana: While the barley cooks, mash the banana in a small bowl until smooth.

  3. 03

Combine Ingredients: Once the barley is cooked and thickened, stir in the mashed banana and formula, milk or liquid of your choice. Add cinnamon optionally. Mix well until creamy.

  4. 04

Simmer and Blend: Let the porridge simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring to ensure everything is combined and heated through.

  5. 05

Serve Warm: Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, and serve in small portions suitable for babies. Blend it to the consistency of your choice if needed.
