Peel, seed, and cube the butternut squash. You can cut the whole butternut squash and freeze leftover for later.
Place the squash cubes in a steamer basket and steam for 15-20 minutes, or until very soft.
Transfer the cooked squash to a blender. Add the breastmilk or formula. You can choose to mash with forks or blend until smooth and creamy.
Serve warm or at room temperature. Refrigerate any leftovers for up to 3 days.
If desired, add more breast milk/formula to adjust the consistency.
